An architectural detail is purely a method to communicate (to a builder & trades) consideration towards certain important aspects of a build. It demonstrates intent. As well as it may try, a detail cannot communicate all aspects of execution. This comes down to the experience, skill and craftsmanship of trades on site.

Gold is struck when these two forces come together, bringing unique skills and experience to the table, effectively breaking bread. Fostering the same meaningful connection we have is to the absolute betterment of our clients and their home. Sharing knowledge & theory, appreciating reality, embracing imperfection, striving for practicality, and ultimately through cooperation creating a detail that is holistically fit for purpose.

Honestly, this is one of the most rewarding parts of our job.

We may have perfected a detail in a past project, however in the custom-home market, every new design brings its own set of challenges and nuance. Not only do details consider the structural cohesion of a building they explore weather defence, rainwater management, vapour control, air infiltration, thermal resistance, rodent control, and at times bushfire protection. These considerations are best resolved as a team.
